BURMAH-YUNNAN frontier.
Peking, February 7, 1911.
I received following telegram No. 5 last night from His Majesty's consul-general at Yunnan-fo, dated the 5th February :-
44 General Tsui is still here. At a Chamber of Commerce meeting which lasted from 3 to 7 P.M. on the 4th instant, a resolution was passed in favour of a boycott of British goods and communicated by telegraph to Tengyueh, Tali, Chaotung, Mengtzu, and Ssumao. The same evening the Viceroy held a council with four commissioners and four taotais probably concerning Pieuma."
We shall not be appreciably affected by a boycott in Yünnan.
